Understanding diversity: The makings of a respectful workplace *

1 hour instructor-led seminar or webinar
For people leaders

Overview

In broad terms, diversity is any dimension that can be used to differentiate groups and people from one another. We are all the product of our diverse perspectives, work experiences, lifestyles and cultures. At the workplace, diversity affects:

  • How employees feel about their jobs
  • How coworkers treat each other on the job
  • How different groups respond to each other and how they coexist at the workplace
  • How effectively the organization operate

A policy of inclusion should be reflected in an organization's culture, practices and relationships to support a diverse workforce. The main goal of this diversity training program is to create a positive work environment by helping employees recognize and respect differences in ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, education, and religion.
