Opioid overdoses now account for more deaths than automobile accidents. The opioid crisis is having devastating consequences for individuals, families, and communities across the country. This seminar focuses on the preconceptions about who uses or misuses opioids and to reduce stigma. The main goal of this seminar is to educate and help prevent opioid overdose and encourage people to learn the multiple ways to treatment.
Participants will learn to:
- Identify different types of opioids and their effects on the body
- Recognize signs of opioid misuse, dependence, and addiction
- Discuss how opioid misuse affects family, friends, co-workers, and the workplace
- Help those struggling with opioid misuse to find the right care and treatment
