Overview

The experience of the COVID-19 outbreak is a traumatic event. It can have short term to long lasting impacts on our mental health. This seminar addresses the common responses to the COVID-19 outbreak and the Big 3 mental health impacts we can expect in the workplace.

It does not assume that the experience of COVID-19 has passed. It assumes that the experience of COVID-19 would be experienced as a ripple effect globally, with different experiences across geographical landscapes. It also addresses the fact that some people recovered from COVID-19 can relapse and test positive again in a short space of time. It applies to persons actively under quarantine and those who are living in countries where restrictions are lifting. We will be looking at practical techniques we can apply as individuals to addressing how the trauma manifests in our lives. It encourages a practice of self awareness, using good resilience strategies, reaching out for support in our social networks and accessing help as needed.
